Papa Joe Aviance is a successful clothing designer, musician and CEO of his LA-based production company, Papa Joe Networks. This triple threat was able to get to where he is today because of his drive, ambition and positivity. Born in Saginaw, Michigan, Papa Joe saw first-hand the importance of a strong work ethic. His grandfather’s own business savvy inspired him to travel the world as a successful businessman, eventually moving to New York City to work his way up the ranks on Wall Street for several high profile companies. However, seeking an outlet for his creativity, Papa Joe moved to Hollywood in 2002 to pursue a career in acting and music.



In 2009, Papa Joe revolutionized the music world when his first release, “Last Night a DJ Saved My Life,” (Kult Records) a collaboration with international house music sensation Lula became an overnight smash hit and topped the charts worldwide. The track hit #6 on the Billboard Magazine Dance Charts, but the song’s impact went much deeper than just making Papa Joe a household name – it changed his entire outlook on life. As the music video from “Last Night…” played in rotation around the clock on MTV, Vh1 and other music channels, he realized how uncomfortable and dissatisfied he was in his own skin – at that time, Papa Joe’s weight had ballooned to 450lbs.



Over the past, 18 months, Papa Joe successfully lost and has, to this day, kept off 250 pounds by committing himself to walking. He accomplished his weight loss without the aid of weight loss surgery, fad dieting or an expensive gym membership, and this experience has served to prove that hard work never goes unrewarded.



In 2010, Papa Joe followed up the success of “Last Night…” with “NOW,” a dance music collaboration for Kult Records with world-famous DJ and producer, Eddie Amador (along with Eddie Cumana and Alan T), which creatively symbolizes Papa Joe’s life motto and expresses his vision for the rest of his career. On October 4, 2011, “Live for Life,” (Molacacho Records) Papa Joe’s latest single with Willy San Juan will release in the US as the single is currently racing up the international Dance Charts.



In 2009, Papa Joe also launched the widely popular clothing line, “Joe Joe” that incorporates different aspects of his music with the hope that each garment will allow wearers to express themselves in a musical way. His production company, Papa Joe Networks opened its doors in 2009 and is a full-service production house projects ranging from music videos to special event video services. Their in-house produced Web series, Rise of a Superstar, has developed a cult following and received critical acclaim for its gritty, behind-the-scenes glimpse into the entertainment industry.



While not in the recording studio, sketching at the “Joe Joe” fashion house or working on a Papa Joe Network production, he donates time to a variety of charities, including: AIDS Walk, The American Red Cross, Ronald McDonald Walk for Kids, MMPA (Multicultural Motion Picture Assoc.), and the Alzheimer’s Association, among others.
